Happy Mother's Day! We may be quarantined but we can still celebrate our moms through the internet! I have three depictions on motherhood in my animals so far and coincidentally their babies are all referred to as pups. What is your favorite mother and baby relationship in the animal kingdom?

Women have fought and continue to fight for our rights. It’s mind blowing to think of all the rights and choices I have now that were dreams to other women who took action to make it a reality. As a thank you and way to show my support, I decided to focus on one of the many animal species that is not led by a dominant male but a dominant female. My "Sunbathing Lady Lemur" is the matriarch of her group of ring tailed lemurs and, as such, she gets the choice of food and mates. In the ring tailed lemur hierarchy, no female lemur gains special treatment for her mother's rank in the group. Instead each individual female within the group fights for her place in the hierarchy. Males also fight for their place but even the lowest ranking males still get to mate. I'm just a doodling artist. My current style started in a lecture class at MCLA where I began doodling in my notebooks. Now I've started a new series focusing on animals. Archives
