True wolves live in packs but the Maned Wolf is a lone wolf. Well, it’s not really a true wolf since it has its own genus, Chrysocyon. They do pair up in monogamous relationships during breeding season and while raising their young to protect their territory. They are omnivores: half of their diet includes fruits and veggies including bananas, apples, avocados, and lobeira fruit , aka fruit of the wolf, and the other half includes small rodents, insects, and birds. A Lobeira fruit grows on a tree and when immature looks a little like a green tomato with inner white flesh and brown/black seeds. If you watched or played Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal/HeartGold/SoulSilver, then they look like green apricorns from the Johto region used to make Friend Pokeballs. This unripened fruit is poisonous to humans so it’s not something you would give to your human friends. When ripe, it has a milky yellow inner flesh and is safe for human consumption. Locals make jams and preserves with them.
